how can I ensure to update a system landscape with same patchlevel (Java Packages)

Hello all,

I found an issue with MOPZ generated stack.xml, when I upgrade my System landscape (NW PI 711 to PI 731 SP10).

After the upgrade to PI 731 SPS 0 all systems should also be upgraded to SPS Level 10.

After I had already upgrade the DEV System the update to SP10 has been performed by using a certain stack.xml geneerated bei Solution Manager MOPZ.

So far no problem. But when I want to upgrade the QAS System (after upgrade to PI 731) to SPS10 I generated another stack.xml in MOPZ with other (higher) patch level for some of the Java packages than the patch levels having in the DEV-System.

To have all systems in the landscape with same patch level I would have to upgrade the DEV again to have the same as in QAS; but what I want is to upgrade all systems in landscape only to same level as DEV. Same issue I will have for PRD.

So is it necessary to create all stack.xmls for the systems in a system landscape at the begining of upgrade for DEV?

Is there any other solution? What to do in case of a new installation, if the new QAS and PRD systems are not in Soltuion Manger, when I start with Installation of DEV?

regards,

Jürgen
